Get Lost Lunch #2

I took a lunch on a Friday and got lost. No idea where I was going just took the camera and went out to see what I could find. I turned a corner in Winston-Salem and immediately stepped back in time. Bethania - the first planned Moravian village in Wachovia...take a look. It's small but really quite a gem. The path to their graveyard, God's Acre - was beautiful and the images I captured there ended up being so green and lush. It's really quite something. There is an old flour mill that they have converted into a small shopping center with a cafe too - Muddy Creek Cafe.

I have not mastered the layout on this yet...but I will.

Greta 1998 - 2011

This week has been an incredibly sad one. Last Monday we were told that our Greta dog had renal failure at the critical stage. We tried to take care of her and gave her a week of admitting SubQ fluids but on Halloween we were told that her levels were actually worse. After seeing her starve herself for 4 days in a row and seeing the decline, it was very clear to us that it was time to make the decision to put her to sleep. Halloween we sat in front of the fire, one that we set daily to keep her warm -- but on that day we were alone. The days have gone by so slowly and I fall into a deep sleep every night with no dreams. Every step in that house has her in it. Everything I do daily at home contains a memory that she's in. I miss her so. I wrote 2 little poems that remind me of her:

A troubled time I have before me,
Knowing my dog's gone to glory.
She climbs the hills of golden sun,
And greets the hearts of everyone.

Don't tell me there's no heaven for those:
Whose wet noses nudge the hands that feed them,
Whose tails clear tables of your reading,
Whose paws remind you they still need you.

Winter Olympics 2010

I have been watching the Olympics and these guys are amazing. Love the Snowboarding, Luge, Skier Cross, and the skating of course!

It seems that each of the events has it's own little bit of drama and it makes you love these athletes more.

What does Vancouver smell like? I keep reading these article headlines about it. What's up?

So much snow. We had snow today but didn't stick. It was beautiful though.

Greetings!

First run on my blog. Not sure how exciting this is but as I design stuff, take pictures and attach some great graphics it should look...asi asi. Trial drop of a design in this post - my simple dragonfly. I am working on a Grifon/Gryphon/Griffon (what-ev) that I will drop in once I clean it up in Illustrator.
